Field eXpedients: Desert Camo Tape 30-Round Magazines


Perhaps your chain-of-command will not tolerate you painting your NATO STANAG 4179 30-round M16/M4 magazines en.wikipedia.org TAN for proper desert camouflage? www.youtube.com You are not sunk. You can use McNett Camo Form tape www.mcnett.com (click on government on left edge of home page) to not only camouflage them but SILENCE their possible metal-on-rock sounds when moving dismounted. www.combatreform.com First, place the 30-round magazine into your M16/M4 assault rifle/carbine's well and mark with a pen, the line of the well's lip on your magazine. Remove the magazine and begin wrapping McNett Camo Form around the magazine OVER THAT LINE with the top edge of your tape. You DO NOT want ANY McNett tape in between the magazine and the M16/M4 well. If you are in a desert environment, USE THE OPPOSITE SIDE of ACUPAT pattern camouflage McNett tape to wrap your magazines; the cling feature of the tape works in either directions. Cut a small piece of McNett Camo Form tape for the bottom of the magazine and cut a slot for the gutted 550 cord pull-carry loop. www.youtube.com www.youtube.com Stretch this bottom piece across and pull the 550 cord pull-carry loop through the slot you cut and then finish wrapping the magazine with the McNett Camo Form tape. Seal the very last end of the tape around the front or back of the magazine with some glue to insure it doesn't unravel during use.
